Geraldine Mamburu – “Writing on the wall”

What should be one of the easiest questions to answer, “Tell me about yourself” is probably not always so. I suppose first thing first is who is the audience? As I ponder about this question, I’m wondering whether I tell you about my favourite drink (G&T if you must know) or do I tell you about my favourite music or my stint in corporate?

For now, I think I’m going to keep it light but still authentic; warts and all.

I am the face behind PDQ Logistics (#GirlsWithTrucks ..heeey!!). I’ve been around the (corporate) block for a while. I’ve had quite a bit of exposure in the automotive industry and delved a bit into the consulting world; hence, it was only befitting that I found myself leaning towards logistics when I decided to go solo.

My friend once said, “How do you know someone has an MBA?” I asked how. He said, “They tell you about it!” Ladies and gentlemen, I am here to tell you that I did my time at Wits Business School and came out of the proverbial penitentiary with an MBA in the unforgettable year that was 2020. Armed with the experience I had garnered over the decades and the constant hunger for autonomy, I decided to lace up my boots and be my own boss.

I have gotten in the habit of reading self-development books where I’ve found myself encountering all these pearls of wisdom and nowhere to share them. This, coupled with the new “adventure” I have embarked on seemed like the perfect time to mix “business and pleasure.” My goal is to use this platform to share titbits of what I pick up in the books I read and the experiences I will encounter as a businesswoman in the logistics space (#WomenInLogistics).

I look forward to interacting and engaging with you and hope that you will find my blogs as interesting as I am, and as they say, If you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together, I look forward to travelling with you!
